Sometimes in life you may find yourself facing situations or trying to resolve issues that seem just too difficult.

This can leave you feeling isolated, anxious or depressed.

I offer a safe place in which through counselling you can explore your concerns with a view to gaining new insights and finding ways forward.

Issues

I provide counselling for bereavement, relationship difficulties, work or personal stress, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, trauma and abuse.

“I really appreciate how you helped me to find a purpose in life again after the death of my mother.”

Anon

“Learning how to cope with my stress and assert myself more has made such a difference.”

Approach

My counselling approach is fundamentally person centred, with emphasis on solution focused therapy and cognitive/behavioural techniques when required.

EMDR therapy is used for the treatment of trauma.

Experience

I have had over 17 years of experience in counselling practice, covering a wide range of issues, while specialising in supporting those who have been bereaved. Services I have provided during this time include both short and long term therapy for individuals, individual supervision, incident debriefing and training.

Ethics

I abide by the Code of Ethics and Practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), providing confidentiality in a warm, accepting, therapeutic relationship.

Location

My private counselling premises in Bangor afford a comfortable setting, which in the interests of privacy is not overlooked. There is easy on street parking and disabled access.

I also work from premises off the Ormeau Road, Belfast
